Icarus Ascending

I always loved the myth of Icarus, even if I like to interpret it in a different way. I wanted to express the joy of Icarus as he flies up in the sky, free from any bond. It's a celebration of total freedom, even if it means risking one's own life. I like to think Icarus was well aware of the consequences of his actions when he disobeyed his father and went too near the sun. I represented him smiling in the moment of the most overwhelming joy.
